League Play

  • Play begins promptly at 7:00 p.m. Please arrive by 6:45 p.m. Play is usually over by 9:00 p.m.

  • The league schedule and standings are posted on the bulletin board on the greens.

  • Games are 14 ends. All ties are played off.

  • Bowlers will use 4 bowls.

  • Dead ends will play the re-spot rule as follows:

    • If the jack passes outside either side boundary, it must be placed with the nearest point of the jack to the mat line at a spot on the rink which is 2 meters (6.5 ft.) from the front ditch and 1.5 meters (5 ft.) to the side of the center line (on the side where the jack exited the rink.)

  • A Forfeit occurs only if neither member of a team is in attendance. Forfeits are counted as wins for the other team with points awarded as the average winning score of games played that week. The team that forfeits gets a loss and no points.

  • Substitutes

    • Teams may select a sub from the general membership.

    • No team can have more than one substitute.

  • League standings are based on the number of wins first and then the total points scored.

  • Winning teams will be awarded no more than 20 points for a win.

  • In the event of foul weather during play, if all matches have completed 7 ends, the scores will stand.

  • Cancellations

    • If league play is cancelled due to inclement weather, players will receive an email to that effect 1 hour before play is to begin (6:00 p.m.) Cancelled games will not be replayed.
